How to use PowerEdit
When
PowerEdit has been installed the following additional menu option will appear
in Excel:

Copy
Copies the currently selected cells to the PowerEdit
clipboard.
Copy Special…
Displays the ‘Copy Special’ dialog box:

Providing the following copy options:

Copy
all cells – copies all selected cells
·
Copy
cells containing formulae only - only copies cells containing formulae (a
formulae cell is defined as any cell whose first character is an “=” symbol).
·
Copy
cells containing constants only.
·
Copy
visible cells only
Paste Special…
Displays the ‘Paste Special’ dialog box:

Providing the following paste options:
·
Identical
Formula Paste – behaves as the normal Excel paste feature except identical
copies of formulae are made (i.e. dollar anchoring is ignored).
·
Normal
Formula Paste – behaves as the normal Excel paste
·
Paste
Values – behaves as the normal Excel Paste Special - Values feature
·
Paste
Link – behaves as the normal Excel Paste Special – Paste Link feature
·
Paste
Formatting – selects whether the formatting is copied across as well
If multiple cell areas have been copied then the paste alignment
dialog box will also be displayed – please click here for further information.
Select Special…
Displays the select special dialog box:

This allows the current cell selection to be ‘down
selected’ to cells meeting certain conditions. For example, cells containing
formulae cells only or cells containing constants only.
Please note that this dialog box is part of the built in
functionality of excel and can be accessed without having the PowerEdit add-in
installed by clicking:
‘Edit’->’Go To…’->’Special…’.
It has only been included within the PowerEdit menu system
to make this very useful feature more visible to general users of Excel.
Reset PowerEdit Toolbar
Resets the PowerEdit toolbar to the default setup.
PowerEdit Help
Displays the PowerEdit help file.
